The SurePoint family of Flat Panel display products is designed to offer a wide range of choices for retailers who need retail-hardened, full-screen video displays in their store environments. These products are available in a range of screen sizes and functions, including, 10-inch, 12.1-inch and 15-inch models to fit nearly any POS configuration. In addition, the 12.1-inch and 15-inch displays are available with innovative Infrared touch technology that improves image quality and increases reliability and usability. Other touch technologies are available on some models as well, such as capacitive touch technology. A variety of I/O devices are also available, including magnetic stripe credit card readers (MSRs), keypad/MSR combinations, speaker/microphone kits and pointing devices to provide maximum flexibility in configuring the ideal solution for nearly any retailer. Depending on the model, the SurePoint Solution is available in a range of connectivity options, including Powered USB, standard USB, RS-232 or RS-485. As a result, it can be attached to nearly any IBM POS system unit or PC, including the SurePOS 300, SurePOS 500, SurePOS 700 or 4694 POS systems.
The IBM 4820 Model 4WT is a 12-inch Pearl White touch screen display that attaches to the IBM SurePOS 700 Models 72x, 74x, 78x, IBM SurePOS 4694, SurePOS 300 Series (and other select systems) via the industry-standard 15-pin VGA-style analog video and powered or standard USB ports. It has a Capacitive Touch screen for manual input as well as additional I/O capability. It is available in two versions — a value version that supports the touch screen and the speaker/microphone kit or a performance version that also includes support for the Pearl White Stripe Reader (MSR), Pearl White keypad/MSR, keylock and the Pearl White USB pointing device and is supported in a 4690 OS environment. In addition, the performance version includes 2 standard USB ports for connecting other external USB devices.
The highly convenient optional Magnetic Stripe Reader easily snaps onto the display. An optional 32-key, programmable keypad offers familiar key-entry of data and it also includes an integrated magnetic stripe reader. The thumb-operated pointing device enables users to navigate both browser and Windows-based applications with ease. These I/O devices attach to the system units via USB connections. A Speaker/Microphone kit is also available, enabling the user to take full advantage of multimedia capability.
The display covers are IBM Pearl White and are color-matched with other I/O devices that attach to an IBM 4694 system unit.
